Paint Color Into Your Life!

Even though summer doesn’t end officially until September 22nd this year, stores are having end-of summer sales! You can get really good deals on patio and garden decor and set yourself up for next summer.

I had gotten this stone frog off season at about 70% off. It was all gray, except for the crown, but the expression was so adorable. I decided to paint it! Just like I shared about painting the rusted garden stakes, I took out my acrylic paints and went to town on this frog.

I’m so happy with the results. After painting, I went outside and sprayed it with a light coating of sealer. All of the statues I’ve done this to have fared well in semi-shaded areas where they avoid fading in the full sun. Rain doesn’t even seem to bother them or change their colors.

This one, I must admit, didn’t make it back outside because it was soo cute as a centerpiece on the kitchen table, next to the silk hydrangeas and crystal rocks for the season. I’ll love it all over again when it’s time to take it out of my prop closet next year.
