Have You Made An Anti-Gravity Cake?
No brag, just fact. For Father's Day I went out on a limb and made my very first Anti-Gravity Cake! It was so fun.
I had seen it on the Food Network Baking Championship and decided I'd try it. I watched a lot of videos on it and saw that people used everything from a straw to a complete kit. I went for the kit considering that if it came out good, I'd be making MANY more of these. (And I WILL!)
Basically, you bake a cake and then put a tube-like structure through part of the cake and then affix something on top of that tube (like a small gift box or bag or candy wrapper from which the goodies can spill on to the cake. I used dark chocolate truffles since it was a Father's Day Cake and my husband loves chocolate. You can use M&M's or any candy that visually appears to spill out from the bag on to the cake by way of the tube that is then covered in some edible "glue," like frosting or melted chocolate. Candies then get affixed to the tube for continuity from bag to cake.
It was a HUGE hit!!!!
So check out some videos for anti-gravity cake, have fun making one yourself, and stay enchanted!
