Have You Ever Saved Your To-Do Lists?

I hope you enjoyed a very Merry Christmas or a Happy Chanukah!

Do you know how you spent your time and what you accomplished all year though?

Most of us are doing a whole lot but can feel as though time gets sucked away with nothing to show for it.

I did a little experiment this year. I kept my To-Do Lists!! Not the cyclical weekly to-dos such as grocery shopping, laundry, cooking, etc. but rather, the steps large and small that I took this year, whether it was planning birthday parties, fulfilling orders for my art in my ETSY shop, or the many tasks that went into the completion of home projects.

So much got accomplished that either I had forgotten about or (like all of the clearing I did when we put down hardwoods) had consumed time that got lost in the joy of the completed project. Years go by without an accountability of time and this year is different.

I’m only human, after all, so truth be told, there are still a few carry-over items that are going on to next year’s list, with a few also that are being removed, completely, because they don’t need to be considered anymore.

Research shows that having to-do lists make the tasks more likely to be completed because most of us find great joy in being able to line through them, check them off, erase, or delete them. I chose to line through them in such a way that they could still be read.

I invite you to consider keeping your to-do lists to see what got your time, energy, and attention when we are at the end of 2023. After you’ve reviewed your lists, use the Enchanted Key to Reduced Clutter to clear the space and make way for the next new year ahead.

This is a positive exercise either way. You’ll honor and revisit the time you spent or see opportunities to creatively change the way you spend or waste time.

Here’s to you as your to-dos become your ta dahs!!!

Happy New Year!

Be safe, healthy, and stay enchanted.
